collecting/dropping off hire car

we are staying at the crowne plaza union square and have to pick up our car from dollar usa in o,farrell street to go on to yosemite -how far is this and what is the best way to get there with our luggage?

same problem coming back-staying at the harbour court hotel in embarcadero for a nght-how far is this from the car place and what is the best way to get to the airport from the hotel?

Both locations are relatively close, but please advise how many of you there are and how much luggage you have.

In some cases you can walk from the Crowne Plaza to O%26#39;Farrell Street, but not if burdened with much luggage or people. You can pick up the car first and come back to the hotel and pick up your luggage and your party, then go on to Yosemite.

The Harbour Court Hotel is near the Embarcadero, so farther from the Dollar place. But it%26#39;s the same thing on the way back, in reverse. If you were taking public tranist back to the airport, you could deposit your party and luggage near the Powell Street BART station, then return the car and walk to the BART station to rejoin your party.

But, if you have a lot of luggage or your party is large, has special needs, etc. you might just want to take everybody to the car rental place and hail a cab to the airport.

... oops. I looked at your question again. Coming back from Yosemite, you could drop off luggage and your party at the Harbour Court Hotel, then drive on to the Dollar Car place. Then take public transit back to the Harbour Court Hotel. You%26#39;d take the F-line streetcar toward the Ferry Building. Get off at ... I think Spear Street or Steuart Street, but close to that, in any case. It%26#39;s a nice walk if you%26#39;re unburdened, about 20 minutes.
