Disneyland Resort from Space

While messing around with Terraserver.com and it%26#39;s vast array of satellite maps I found a neat color sat pix of Disneyland and surrounding area. In the upper left corner the large white building is the Mickey and Friends parking structure rumored to be the largest in the USA or maybe the world at 10,000 spaces.

At the bottom is California Adventure. If you click the AERIAL MAP tab at the top of the page a much older black and white map from about 20 years will come up. You can see the original 100 acre parking lot for DL plus all the strawberry fields around the park.

You can also zoom in and out with the left side tab.

Enjoy.

Definitely cool.

Boy am i going to have sore feet

Thanks for posting this link so we can all see it. I will add to everyone else%26#39;s thoughts ';Very Cool!';

Wow is that ever neat.

It makes me even more excited about our trip!

Thanks

This is great bgactor- I can%26#39;t help but notice how green DL is compared to everything else, including Ca Adventure. BTW, didn%26#39;t I see you in the Vegas forum not long ago?:)

Yes I was in the Vegas forum.

By the way no one really talks about this too much but DL was built with a 50 ft. dirt berm surrounding it. Berm is topped with tall trees and I believe that was to keep guests from seeing anything outside the park to keep you ';in the illusion.';

Whenever someone wanted to build something tall nearby the builders would run up a large red balloon on a rope and the Disney folks would walk around the park trying to spot it or not.

Maybe Darkbeer has some deeper knowledge of this.

Did you happen to catch the History of Disney on A%26amp;E last night? Great 2 hour show.
