Nice Drives to See Homes

Any recommended drives to see nice homes? I%26#39;m not interested in who lives where (like say, certain celebrities). I just absolutely love architecture, especially personal homes.

Also, are there any homes open for public viewing? I doubt it but I thought that I%26#39;d ask anyway. I%26#39;m from the South and we have the ';Parade of Homes'; in which people can buy tickets to tour newly built houses...just for viewing and showing off new ideas for building and decorating.

Around the Pasadena area, they do have the historic highland tours. These tours showcases different homes that are craftsman styles. They let you tour inside the homes and meet the owners.This is only done once a year .

You can tour Barbra Streisand%26#39;s former home in Malibu. It%26#39;s on 20-some acres and I guess she donated it to a historical society after she had a hard time selling it. It%26#39;s only open one or two days a week, though.

Just drive down Sunset Blvd toward the beach and turn up any street that catches your eye.

Greystone Mansion. Go go beverlyhills.org, search for greystone mansion, and click on the link for park hours. I%26#39;ve seen tour groups led by a park ranger, you might want to do that.
