Using the train...

Hello -

Can someone please tell me exactly how I would get from the airport to the Powell Street station in San Francisco using the train. I am staying at the Hotel Nikko and am considering this option to get to my hotel?

Is it a pretty easy trip? Does it take long?

Thanks much for your help.

Using the train...

By ';train'; you could mean BART or you could mean Caltrain. The former is our regional rapid transit system, the latter is our traditional train.

This is an excellent way to go to the Nikko, both cost-effective (if there is only one or two of you) and easy.

Take the free AirTrain shuttle from the terminal to the BART station. From BART, follow the directions to buy your tickets from the machine, using the fare guides and maps, to San Francisco.

See www.bart.gov

Use the Quick Planner to plug in your relevant stations, to find fare info, schedule, etc. Should take about 25 minutes or so.

Your departure station is San Francisco Int%26#39;l Airport

Your arrival station is Powell Street.

The Nikko is about two blocks away, north of the station.

Addendum: You could also take CalTrain, but I did not recommend it because the terminal is too far away from the hotel. Caltrain is a good choice if you are headed to the AT%26amp;T Giants ballpark, but not Union Square area.

Thanks much for the great info. Really appreciate it.
