Okay me and my boyfriend are looking to go to San Diego like Nov 17- Nov 24. (Thanksgiving Break) We are a 20-some year old couple with NO KIDS! My main question is, best area to stay, convenient for pedestrians aka public transportation, restaurants, shopping, etc. So about the hotel mainly, looking inexpensive but nice. Prefer a refridgerator, microwave, coffee maker. Some where near the water is cool, but if not, no big deal. Used to Marriotts, Ramadas, Holiday Inns, etc. but if there is one that exceeds the other than let me know. Probably going to SeaWorld, The Zoo, and might even make it to Disney. Number 2, anything imparticular going on over Thanksgiving?? Good or bad?? I would appreciate any help I can get.
Need HELP!!!...hotels, area, etc.
The nice Marriott %26amp; Marina downtown is lovely BUT I don%26#39;t think you would call it inexpensive. I fyou want easy acces to public transportation you need to stay downtown, inour Little Italy area just north of dowtown, or in our Old Town park area just northof Little Italy.
There are several holiday Inns but the best one is the Holiday Inn on the BAy (NOT others with names that sound similar) It faces SanDiego Bay and is close to the downtown ';action'; and transportation. Another hotel which might be cheaper is the Best WesternBayside. It is a little further from the main downtown area and is a few blocks from Little Italy. It is a high rise hotel with a free shuttle from theairport and I think bkfst too. The Holiday Inn I mentioned also has a free shuttle from the airport and one to the zoo, and other parts of the downtown area.
Disney is 2 hrs away. There is an AMTRAK train that runs from downtown to near Disney.
Inour Old Town park area ther is a Courtyard by Marriott. Take a look at these and let me know what you thinka dn I can make more suggestions if need be.
