October 15-21 why are hotels booked up?

Mu husband has just given the green light to take another trip to DL before our annual passes run out, but a quick check to see if there might be any kind of AP rates at the DL hotels shows them all booked up. Is there a convention going on, maybe this is a bad time to go, can anyone advise please.

We are also going in October and found the DL hotels were booked up on certain dates. Not sure if it%26#39;s due to a big convention or not, but the DL hotels had been offering a fall promotion, so I%26#39;m guessing they got a lot of reservations that way.

We found availability at the GC by booking a package through an airline, even though the DL website showed no availability. I%26#39;d imagine the airlines and other agencies buy a certain number of rooms from Disney and offer packages that way.

From the middle to the end of October the year round schools are on a two week break. We found this out last year when we were at Disneyland that week. It was really busy.

When I was making reservations for my trip (IN 3 DAYS!!), I found that, even though I was making the reservations in like July, the DL site and this site said the DH was booked. I ended up calling them through the Travel Company and it wasn%26#39;t booked. I guess when you try to book you online, they only give you a certain type of room. But if you call, you can be more specific.

I was shocked to, to see that this weekend looks like it would be busy. We had a problem booking for the 19th to the 22nd! I found out after I booked about the year round school. Yikes, and we thought we were going on ';off'; season!
