Hi,
I%26#39;ve 4 days booked in LA in Late July 22nd to the 26th (fly to Vegas on the 26th) and need help trying to book hotels for that period. I fly into LAX and have got a hire car booked but would like to do the following things whilst in LA. Baseball game (there is a game on the 22nd July!) Six flags, Universal, Disney and Venice Beach. My problem is deciding where to stay. I know i%26#39;ll have roughly a day at each of the venues and am not too worried about driving north to south ( six flags down to Disney, I live in London England so am used to bad traffic!).
I was thinking of staying near six flags for 2 days, handy for six flags and not too far from Universal and then near disney for two (candy Cane Inn!)
Just need advice really. Should I book into one hotel near one of the attractions and drive to the rest or should I stay two days in the north of the city covering six flags and Universal and then 2 days in the south covering the beach and Disney. Budget is upto $200 a night for the hotels.
Any ideas will be greatfully received!
Many thanks,
John.

I wouldn%26#39;t stay near Six Flags. There%26#39;s nothing there but the park. One possibility is to stay near Universal (at one of the hotels on-site -- the Sheraton Universal or the Universal Hilton). This way, you will be adjacent to Universal City Walk where you have a large selection of restaurants (and shops) to choose from should you be too tired too venture out for dinner at the end of the day. You will also be a few minutes to Hollywood City Centre should you want to explore the Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre, etc.
Regarding the second half of your trip, the Candy Cane is fine (it is very popular on TripAdvisor) but keep in mind that Venice Beach is really not close to Anaheim. There are many beaches that are closer and just as nice such as Laguna and Newport.
If you%26#39;re intent on spending some time in Venice, however, then I would stay in ';in the north'; as you call it for your entire holiday. You will only be venturing ';to the south'; once for Disneyland and you can easily access Anaheim via the 101 freeway (motorway) that runs alongside of Universal.
Good luck!

I agree with the previous post.
Although Valencia is a very nice community, it%26#39;s mostly residential and the only tourist attraction there is Magic Mountain. You can stay at Universal City, Hollywood, or possibly Burbank if you want to hit Magic Mountain and Universal Studios. At Universal City there is the Universal Sheraton and the Universal Hiltion and they%26#39;re both right next to Universal Studios and Citywalk. There%26#39;s also bunch of hotels in Hollywood, if you can get it for a good price, the Renaissance Hollywood has gotten wonderful reviews on TA. Or stay at Burbank, close to the Media Center. There%26#39;s the Holiday Inn, Burbank near the Media Center, and it%26#39;s within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars. Burbank would also be close to Dodger Stadium if you%26#39;re going to watch a baseball game.
For accomodations in the south, since you%26#39;ll be here in July, I%26#39;d stay at one of the beaches in Orange County. Laguna Beach is quite beautiful and there%26#39;s also Newport Beach. They%26#39;re not too far of a drive to Disneyland. A nice hotel at Laguna beach, and reasonably priced is the Laguna Riviera Resort. We%26#39;re actually heading for London next Friday so I can%26#39;t beleive it%26#39;s almost here!
Have fun!
