where to stay help!

We are driving from LA to san diego and we are going to spend 2 nights at torrey pines to play golf before spending 2 nights somewhere relatively cheap in san diego.

We are hoping to go to seaworld, zoo, bay, main tourist spots- we have no clue where to stay- which area nor hotel- our budget is around $100-150 per night.

Any suggestions would be great

where to stay help!

I fyou are staying near Torrey Pines golf course you are already staying IN SanDiego. I hope you already have tee times because they are very difficult to get.

There are some hotels near Torrey Pines that are not too expensive like the Radisson La Jolla and the La Jolla Marriott. La Jolla is a neighborhood of the city of SanDiego. The hotels I mentioned are NOT at the beach but are about 8min. from the nearest beach.

I fyou want to experience some other SanDiego neighborhoods there is the LIttle Italy Inn and La Pensione in our Little Italy neighborhood which is about 10 min. north of downtown SanDiego and about 15 min. south of Torrey Pines. There are many restaurants nearby and it is easy to get to the other tourist spots.

another area that is centrally located is our Old Town area. It is called that because it is near Old Town State Park which has historical buildings and reproductions of ';Old';SanDieog. There are also many restaurants andshops there and it is a central location. You will find Holiday Inn Espress -old town, Old Town Courtyard by Marriott and Best Western Hacienda Suites. These 3 may be more expensive than the Little Italy suggestions. Let me know if you want some more possibilities.

yes we have tee times book- u get priority when staying with them.So how long will it take us to drive from torrey pines to sea world/zoo/bay area of san diego

It is about 15 min. to Sea World and about 20 min. to the zoo or the downtown area . The zoo is actually very close to downtown San Diego. You are also close to the area we call La Jolla cove which is a series of small cliff enclosed(cove ) beaches. One beach has been taken over by a colciny of harbor seals and you can watch them sunning and playing in the water. There are also many restaurants, art galleries, and boutiques in that neighborhood.

the downtown ';gaslamp'; area is close to SanDieog bay where you can take a ahrbor cruise or take the ferry to Coronado.
