Anthony's?

I have been encouraged to eat at ';Anthony%26#39;s'; for dinner while staying in San Diego. It is supposedly on the waterfront near the bridge to Coronado. Does anyone know which ';Anthony%26#39;s'; this would be. I find two of them (Anthony%26#39;s Fish Grotto and Anthony%26#39;s Star of the Sea) - both on the same street when I do a search. Are they one in the same? Would anyone else recommend it?

Thanks.

Anthony's?

Fish Grotto --%26gt; Mid-level quality / ambiance restaurant with a good view. Often times there is a line to get seating. Nothing bad to say, but nothing to write home about IMHO.

Star of the Seat --%26gt; High end, lovely, one of my favorites. I%26#39;ve been traveling alot this year and someone mentioned to me that they are remodeling again. Call ahead to check so that we can give you advice on an alternative.

Have fun.

Anthony's?

tootall is right. Anthony%26#39;s Star of the Sea is being remodeled and will open with a new name-Ghios-after a founding member of the family that owns it. It will have a new menu etc. So we will all have to try it and see how it is.

Anthony%26#39;s Fish Grotto and Anthony%26#39;s Star of the Sea are located adjacent to each other and share the same kitchen. Fish Grotto is great for families; Star of the Sea is more upscale and the restaurants are priced accordingly. If a decent fish dinner is what you%26#39;re looking for, the Fish Grotto is just fine. Nothing too fancy in decor but the service and food are good.

Also, in the same complex is Anthony%26#39;s Fishette, which is fast food fish. Same good quality without the wait service. It%26#39;s perfect if your time is short and you want a quick meal.

All three restaurants sit right on San Diego Bay on the Embarcadero (waterfront). It is not anywhere near the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge.

You also might want to try the Fish Market, located on the bay and just north of Seaport Village. It has harbor views and two restaurants; upstairs is upscale while downstairs is more affordable.
