Romantic getaway in Lake Arrowhead - B & B's & restaurants

My husband and I are planning on celebrating our anniversary in Lake Arrowhead. However, we%26#39;ve never stayed there before and any advice would be much appreciated - B %26amp; B%26#39;s, restaurants and things to do. We%26#39;re planning for a three-day weekend in late September. Any advice on the Romantique Lakeview Lodge or the Fleur du Lac European Inn would be great! Or if you have other B %26amp; B%26#39;s or Inns to recommend. Also, if you could give us some suggestions for romantic dining that would be great too! We like seafood, Italian, French, Thai, etc. Well, pretty much anything but Mexican food.

I just noticed your posting and don%26#39;t know if you have already come up. Here are some ideas.

Romantique is my suggestion for a place to stay. You will be able to walk to the village and avoid the hassle of parking. It is on one of the main roads and is easy to find. Let them know it is your anniversary when you make your reservation.

My husband and I like the Thai restaurant in the village. Make a reservation for lunch or stop there first and shop in the village. Ask for a table with a view of the water. Get your coffee and cinnamon rolls at Razzberries in the lower village. Make sure you walk to the end on the village to get a view of the nice houses built around the lake. You might want to take the Arrowhead Queen boat ride and tour the lake. Go to Leroy%26#39;s store to get tickets.

Locals eat breakfast at The Villager in Blue Jay or The Cottage in Rim Forest (share a meal, portions are gigantic). These are basic restaurant that have been around for decades. For a view of the water and fancier decor, eat at The Belgium Waffle dockside in the village. It has other choices beside waffles and is an option for lunch as well with a variety of sandwiches. Their dessert waffles are yummy, too.

For dinner we like Casual Elegance in Blue Jay or Chateau Gourmet in Lake Gregory. We have not tried the new restaurant at the resort. The previous one was good, however. The resort is undergoing renovations. There is a spa downstairs if you want to book massages. You can even book a couple%26#39;s massage and be in the same room.

Depending on the weather you might like to take a hike on one of the shorter trails. There will be Octoberfest activities going on in the village as well.
