Lake Tahoe to Yosemite-

Going Memorial Weekend-wii the road be closed-and if so whats down the road from Tahoe before the road is closed-will I be able to make it to Mono Lake/Lee Vining and how long is this drive ? thank you

Lake Tahoe to Yosemite-

I assume you are asking if Tioga Pass will be open for Memorial Day weekend so that you can drive from Tahoe to Lee Vining/Mono Lake and then into Yosemite? No Tioga Pass will not be open. But you can go from Tahoe to Lee Vining via 395 but you would not be able to go to Yosemite over Tioga Pass. You can also take an alternate route to Yosemite from Tahoe but you would not see Lee Vining/Mono Lake.

Lake Tahoe to Yosemite-

Dear Sparky,

You can come down the western side of the Sierras out of Tahoe using 89/88/39 or 50/49 and then into Yosemite from 120.

There are many places to stay along the way. If you get as far as groveland, less than 4 hours from Tahoe, an hour from Yosemite Valley you can find lodging at www.StayNearYosemite.com. If you want to stop before that, you can find lodging at www.TCVB.com

If your final destination is Las Vegas, with Yosemite planned as a side trip, this will be a bit longer of a haul for you than the in-out you anticipated along 395 but will still be a lovely trip.

We were just in Tahoe yesterday and it was beautiful. Sort of between seasons, not quite full on summer, and no longer winter ski time. Loved the lack of traffic and the lake is always wonderful with or without others to share it with.

Have a great trip.
