Need advice - Russian River / Cazadero

My husband and I honeymooned in Sonoma last year and it was absolutely magical. It was a little cottage on Moon Mountain Road called Sonoma Country Cottages – heavenly! We visited several wineries in Sonoma Valley and ate in some of the wonderful area restaurants – Girl %26amp; fig, General’s daughter, etc. We are returning this year but have booked a cabin in Cazadero on Austin Creek. I understand that it is pretty remote, which is great with us. However, we would like to venture out a few days and need advice/recommendations.

Arriving SFO Friday, October 6 – suggestions for drive up and an interesting place to lunch (inexpensive- we’re on a much more limited budget this year). We are planning on cooking and eating most meals at the cabin so we need to find a reasonably priced grocery store on the way from SFO.

Saturday – we are interested in “drinking in the scenery” more this year but want to spend one day visiting wineries. We thought about Healdsburg since there are several tasting rooms in the town and then maybe make our way down Westside Road. Any thoughts? What about renting a bike in town and biking down Westside?

Sunday – we would like to visit Armstrong Redwood Park or rent a canoe in Forrestville or both!

Monday – we thought about getting a massage and enzyme bath at Osmosis. Any feedback on the spa or its treatments? Are there any better spas in the immediate area?

A loop route with great scenery, inc. quite a number of picturesque wineries would be Westside Rd. out of Healdsburg, onto W. Dry Creek Rd. which will take you no. thru the beautiful Dry Creek Valley. At Lambert Bridge Rd. you head east and hook up with Dry Creek Rd. You can stop at the Dry Creek General Store and get something to eat and drink. From there you go so. on Dry Creek and then east onto Lytton Springs Rd. where you%26#39;ll ride uphill for a bit; then right (so.) on Chiquita Rd. Then finally, right on Grove St., which will take you back to downtown Healdsburg. It%26#39;s a very popular cycling route and it%26#39;s under 20 mi. r/t. If you want info., maps or to strike out on your own with rental bikes, check with Spoke Folk Cyclery at 201 Center St. (a block so. of the Plaza) in Healdsburg (www.spokefolk.com). You could also just take Westside Rd. so. to Wohler Rd. and then cross (very carefully) River Rd. over to the Farmhouse Inn--where they now have spa facilities that are available even if you aren’t staying there. But make arrangements ahead: www.farmhouseinn.com/spaservice.htm. Since you’ll be staying in the Cazadero area, be sure to stop in at Raymond’s Bakery where they have some absolutely delicious choices of baked goods: www.raymonds-bakery.com
