Yosemite Lodge : Which Room ?

Hi ,

We are staying at Yosemite Lodge at the beginning of August and would like to know which rooms have the best views . Also I have read some rooms have been refurbished recently ... Anyone know which ones ?

Yosemite Lodge : Which Room ?

I%26#39;ll be there in about two weeks and will check it out. I don%26#39;t know how specific you can be in terms of choice of room or building, however. Some locations are based on the type and price of the room.

Yosemite Lodge : Which Room ?

Most of the rooms have the same layout and the same price I believe ie: balcony or patio, with the exception of those in Cedar building near the lobby (3901- 3927) There is a review under Yosemite Lodge here on TA that has good photographs of the three buildings in the woods (Aspen, Dogwood,Tamarack - the 41 hundred rooms) and also a map of the layout of the property.

The buildings that look towards the falls won%26#39;t have any stunning views, as by August the falls won%26#39;t have much water at all. So your best choice is to decide if you want to be upstairs or down in the two storey buildings or to choose the one storey buildings Birch, Cottonwood and Elderberry. Even then, you can only request and no guarantee you will get what you want as obviously it all depends on occupancy.

Macjack, maybe you can find out when they are going to start the construction remodel on Hemlock, Maple and Alder that look south across the meadows? These rooms have had the furniture from the Tenaya Lodge at Fish Camp renovation which is quiet nice and also new carpets, drapes and linoleum. Also, Juniper and Laurel are a little west with the same south views. The permits are still holding up construction but it is all part of the aftermath of the BIG FLOOD, and the subsequent planning that takes years to execute, as well as following strict guidelines for environmentally appropriate building!

So everyone, when it happens, bear with the development. They could have closed the lodge down completely which would have been easier, but then where would we fans stay because we all know that being IN the park is the optimum experience.
