Hi everyone,
I am in LA for one night only on 5/6 June and I have been trying to come up with th best place to stay. I am on limited budget and I have narrowed it down to 3 places.
1/ SANTA MONICA (SEA SHORE HOTEL)- How far is this from LAX and what is the public transportation like? Also is it easy enough to get around from SM?
2/ REDONDO BEACH (BW Sunrise hotel)- Same questions as above
3/ LONG BEACH staying on THE QUEEN MARY
What do you think would be th best option for me? I arrive in LA at 2pm on 5th and flight out is not until 11pm on 6th.

Where to stay?
1 and 2 are your best options. They are both close to LAX, both in areas where you can eat and shop on foot - Redondo is closer to LAX. Public transportation to both motels is easy - just map it at mta.net

If you have only one night, stay in Santa Monica. There is plenty of SoCal ambience you can easily soak up here: Palisades Park overlooking the Pacific, Third Street Promenade, the Pier, Main Street. Venice Beach is about a mile south.
If you can, I%26#39;d also advise you to take a few hours to visit The Getty Museum which is in Brentwood and accessible via public transit. Even if you%26#39;re not interested in the exhibits (I%26#39;m not), this will give you a great sense of place. The view is excellent. Admission is free.
HTH.
I vote for Santa Monica. It%26#39;s pretty close (in LA terms) to LAX, public transport is good, and as HitchKennedy mentioned, there%26#39;s lots to see.
The Big Blue Bus #3 runs from LAX to 4th street in Santa Monica every 15 minutes or so. The trip takes about 40 minutes.
You can use the Blue Bus to get around Santa Monica.

Enjoy your trip!
I agree with yoga. Either 1 or 2. I like the Redondo Beach location because it%26#39;s just right next to Hermosa Beach/Manhattan Beach and I enjoy these beaches. They%26#39;re smaller and less touristy than Santa Monica, but Hermosa and Manhattan Beach is very popular with the local crowds. Hermosa attracts a lot of the local twenty something crowds.
Thanks all for your info, will decide soon.
