You using 120 or 140 in or out of the park?
If 140 we ate at In and Out in Merced.

140. thanks - in n out is always reliable!
Hey it just occurred to me, when were you planning on using 140. That rock slide has it closed from Midpines so you wouldn%26#39;t be able to pass through to Merced. I%26#39;m hoping your trip will be after it%26#39;s all cleaned up.
we%26#39;re going for memorial day weekend. think it%26#39;ll be clear by then? thanks.
Oh I%26#39;m sure there is tremendous pressure to get that road open by Memeorial Day weekend. I can%26#39;t even imagine only 2 entrances for that time of year.
If you decide to switch to 120, check out my Inside Page on driving into the park- I%26#39;ve only made it as far as describing 120. It doesn%26#39;t mention specific restaurants, but does discuss the best places to stop along the way.
And if it%26#39;s In-n-Out you%26#39;d enjoy, your last chance on the route 120 approach would be at Tracy, off of 205 (unless a newer one has opened that I don%26#39;t know about!)
Oh, don%26#39;t do in %26amp; out, that is so national chain! Why not pick one of the small little one of a kind restaurants along the way. If you can make it to Groveland before you eat, less than 3 hours from Oakland, there are half a dozen unique choices from Stans Q selling tri-tip and BBQ in a picnic setting to the Iron Door Grill with their one of a kind ambiance to the Groveland Hotel with its outdoor patio and Wine Spectators awarded wine list....
I imagine every little town has its special places...try one of these!
thanks for the tips, all. i was hoping for some non-chain recommendations - and BBQ sounds promising!
