I went to Palermo over the weekend and I was very unimpressed. I like to help promote local business, but the food was very mediocre and over priced. I couldn%26#39;t believe a glass of house wine cost $9.50! My friend%26#39;s meal was really sad as he paid $13.00 for a dish of 5 ravioli that was bland. When he made a comment about the dish to the owner, the owner showed him the salt and pepper mills. We were insulted. I would NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant at all.
Palermo Ristoranted in Elk Grove
I have eaten at Palermo many times and find the food to be excellent. One of the few places that really knows how to make good pasta - southern Italy style. Prices are a bit high but worth it.
Palermo Ristoranted in Elk Grove
I have eaten at Palermo%26#39;s a dozen or more times. I absolutely love it. And, I am some what of a food and wine snob. The service is great, very family orientated. Food is excellent. It isn%26#39;t the cheapest but it is worth it. I have many friends and family that also love Palermo%26#39;s. I am surprised that the owner, Giovanni would have been rude to a patron. He is very friendly and gracious.
I have been eating at Palermo for 14 years, formerlly when they were in Palo Alto and then when they moved to Elk Grove. I moved to the Sierra Foothills five years ago and would still stop in to have a meal when they were in Palo Alto. Now, I drive an hour to get to them in Elk Grove. I am a self-confessed food snob and I can tell you that the food is the best Southern Italian I have ever eaten. Given the ingredients they use and the quality of the food it is worth the price... You do get what you pay for. They are the friendliest people and I would find it extremely hard to believe that the owner was rude to anyone! His whole family is like my extended Italian family.
