High Season

Hi, could someone tell me what times of year would be considered high season and low season? We are looking to go during the least expensive time of year.

High Season

More people visit during the summer months since kids are off school, etc. But the rest of the year it%26#39;s hit or miss due to the various conventions that are scheduled all throughout the year. Check out this website to see when some of the bigger conventions are scheduled (look under the ';travel/trade'; tab):

Some of our best weather usually occurs in September through early October, so you might want to think about coming then.

High Season

The absolute low season in January-February. As krslong mentioned, you get some really nice weather in September-October. You can probably get some decent shoulder season rates by the third week of October, and still get nice weather. It turns chilly almost overnight that time of year. By Halloween, there%26#39;s a snap in the air and we%26#39;re often turning on the heaters.

Wes Tyler at the Chancellor has answered a similar post before and would be in the best position to know.

You both have is exactly right. Jan-Feb is the most quiet time of year. The typical visitor time is June-Aug. Sept %26amp; Oct are big convention months with still a good amount of visitors and the warmest weather. Weekends are popular year round and especially in the holiday shopping season. Other periods (March, April and May) are hit or miss based on conventions and special events that may be scheduled. November and December are quiet mid week if there are no conventions in town. A lot of the holidays, like Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, etc. are camping, lakes and mountains getaways, so discounts can often be found in The City.
