We are staying at the Chancellor in Sept. and by the time we get there it will be around 6:30 (but our bodies will know its later..ha). Is there any place good to eat near the Chancellor? Not fancy just good food. After flying all day I am usually really tired and need a good night sleep before the vacation really begins. Thanks.

Plenty of choices.
Directly across the street is Scala Bistro, inside the Sir Francisc Drake Hotel. If that%26#39;s too fancy, repair to Sears Fine Foods, practically next door to the Chancellor.
Further down the hill on Powell Street are a few Thai noodle places, very casual, very inexpensive, and good. King of Thai and Bangkok Noodle. Lori%26#39;s Diner, also, for diner fare -- burgers, etc. are also found down the hill on Powell Street. Slide into a vinil booth and let the 50s take over.
That%26#39;s probably enough for folks who are tired. There are plenty of places beyond that in the nice or very casual mode, but it requires just a bit more walking.

Thanks for the great ideas...Part of the fun is planning the trip and then I don%26#39;t have to think much while I%26#39;m gone, just relax and have fun.

Kuletos is another choice. It%26#39;s right down Powell Street by the Villa Florence Hotel.
My son had dinner at Scala%26#39;s in March and enjoyed it very much. I would recommend Farallon, very good seafood, not gourmet or elaborately prepared, and the main pool room is really fun and nicely decorated. Cheers! :)
