Hi all,
Finally waited 2 months and this wekeend i%26#39;m suppose to go try that restaurant out but after reading a few recent reviews, i%26#39;m not sure if i want to anymore.. they screwed up my reservation the first time so had to wait another 2 months, what do you guys think? to go or not to go?
Any other restaurant u guys highly recommend? Fleur de ly%26#39;s, Compton Place?
I heard a jacket was required at GD, can anyone confirm?
thanks!

I think it%26#39;s up to you. Worth it compared to what? Perhaps you%26#39;re ticked off with them already and the experience will not be satisfactory if you go in with that frame of mind.
It%26#39;s pretty simple to research any dress requirements. Simply go to the restaurant%26#39;s own site:

It%26#39;s pretty clear that there is nothing there about jackets for men, but much is left to your discretion.

Wow, I don%26#39;t know about the restaurant, but their website is REALLY annoying. A 1 meg Flash download??? Geez.
I was there in Feb. Jackets are supposedly required, but they take it from you the second you walk in the door. Then again, i looked around and i was the only one who gave them my jacket. I also rolled up my sleeves and felt ';underdressed'; so i rolled them back down.
food is pretty good, but not amazing. Prices were pretty reasonable in my opinion. Service was the best Ive ever had anywhere hands down.
I really like it and I think it%26#39;s a wonderful restaurant. We have never had a bad experience there.
That said, judging by the tone of your post, it sounds like you really don%26#39;t want to and if you go in with a somewhat bad attitude, chances are you will not have a good time.
just interested if you went...appears you waited 4 months to get in %26amp; then were being side-tracked by non-food issues. If you did go, was the food/service great? Haven%26#39;t been there yet, but I do have reservations there for special event later this year.
We ate there Wed. night and having dined at the finest restaurants around the world my rating would be 10 out of 10 . From the service to the food . Truly a unique experience .
Only gripe if I had to pick one . Expect to pay 20.00 USD plus tax for a 4 oz. glass of red or white wine . A little excessive IMHO .
My foodie friend says that GD is one of the best in the city.
Personally I don%26#39;t think it is a good value as the prices are outrageous. But for some people, money is no object. So if you are looking for an excellent experience and don%26#39;t care about the price, GD is an excellent choice.
