LA Tours

Can anyone recommend which tours are the best? I mean, a bus (or trolley) tour of LA, probably at least a few hours long. Which company? Website? Thanks. Travel dates are July 13-19, 2006,

LA Tours

There are a number of companies that provide these tours:

starline (starlinetours.com) -- click on the city where you will be PICKED UP for your tour (in other words, the neighborhood where your hotel is located).

All Los Angeles Tours -- alllosangelestours.com (Note: there are 3 successive ';Ls'; in the website name.

Amazing L.A. Tours (also known as Grayline or CoachUSA):

All are well-respected an offer similar tours.

Good luck!

BTW, be aware that based on the length of the tours, sometimes a trolley or coach will simply drive through an area rather than stop there to let you off for a while. When reading the descriptions of the tours, be attentive to the wording. When it says: ';See beautiful beaches'; that usually means that they do not stop. When it says: ';Walk on golden sand / get your feet wet in the surf'; that means that the bus stops. If it%26#39;s not clear from the description, contact the tour company for clarification. Obviously, if they are advertising a tour of THE WHOLE CITY in 3 hours, they are not going to be stopping very often (since the stops are anywhere from 20 minutes to several hours, sometimes).

LA Tours

The key words are:

VISIT: Tour will stop and you get off.

VIEW: Tour will drive by.

SKIRT: Tour will bypass and you will not see it. I had a tour in Europe once than skirted the black forest.
