To riffsmom, hulajake %26amp; others:
So Hubby and I are driving down to La Jolla from LA this Saturday (in the morning). We%26#39;ll probably be spending most of the day with family in La Jolla.
On Sunday morning, we may have a few relaxing hours to ourselves before heading back to LA. WHERE WOULD YOU GO TO RELAX FOR A FEW HOURS ON A SUNDAY MORNING?
Don%26#39;t know when we%26#39;ll be back to the area as we are both so busy. Any suggestions on which beach area to explore?
I%26#39;ve already been to Coronado beach outside the hotel, so not interested in there so much.
Is there a fun boat ride somewhere? A great walk? Some great gardens that might be open at that time?
Thanks!
Bet
Riffsmom and Hula: If you only had a few hours on Sunday...My first pick would be La Jolla Cove - maybe brunch at Brockton Villa. then stroll along the cove and watch the people and the ocean. If the tide is out you can explore the tidepools too.
If you%26#39;ll be La Jolla%26#39;d out, perhaps Quail Botanical gardens in Encinitas, or the Japanese garden in Balboa Park.
I can feel myself relaxing, just imagining this.
Riffsmom and Hula: If you only had a few hours on Sunday...Only thing I could add is if you enjoy watching the surf and/or surfers Carlsbad by the Sea Beach or Wind and Sea Beach. The latter maybe better for walking around the other is off 101 but like the others mentioned they are all relaxing. Have a good trip
For me it is hard to spend a few hours doing something int he morning knowing I have to drive up to LA later. I agree :1-walk around the cove, but if you have already done that you could drive down I-5 to Mission Bay Park and take a walk. We often do that for exercise on the weekends. YOu could go to Torrey Pines State Park and walk there.Quail Gardens in Encinitas is on your way north. It is hard when you have only a little time. Can you stay over another night or go up later?
