My husband and I will be taking our 5-year-old daughter to Disneyland in October. I have some logistical questions about the Fastpass system, and I can%26#39;t seem to find answers anywhere else. Thanks for your help!
Do all three of us need to get a fastpass ticket for the specific attraction?
Do we have a choice of times to return, or does it automatically give us the next available time slot?
What if it spits out a different time for our daughter? Obviously we don%26#39;t want her to go alone.
Do you use the fastpass on the attraction only during the one-hour time slot, or can you use it any time after the time slot has started (say, 3 hours later)?
Can you cancel a fastpass?
Disneyland Fastpass
First off, there is a complete guide o the FASTPASS ssytem here at TripAdvisor in the Anaheim Insider Pages.
You need all three tickets to get Fastpasses for the group (one ticket equals one FP), but only one person has to go to the machines (just take all the tickets).
The machine will give you the next available time block, they start with the morning hours and dispense them until they run out. The FP is acutally good from the start time until the park close, you can use FP%26#39;s after the printed end time (official policy).
If you get them at the same time, the worse case scenerio, there would be a 5 minute difference, for example, one FP would say good from 12:15 to 1:15, and the others say 12:20 to 1:20, so just show up any time after 12:20 and you can all go together.
As mentioned above, you are not allowed to use the FP until the starting time, but once that happens, the FP is good for the rest of the day.
FASTPASSes cant be cancelled, but you can get a new one once the starting time has arrived, or 2 hours later, whichever comes first. If you don%26#39;t use your FP, no worries, people do it all the time, also you can give them to others if you don%26#39;t want them.
Disneyland Fastpass
Remember one very important thing: FASTPASS is your friend! Master it and you will have a much more enjoyable vacation.
Each one of you will need to get a FASTPASS for the ride. It%26#39;s very simple. You will see the signs for where you need to get your FASTPASS at each ride. You go up and insert your part ticket (e.g. your parkhopper pass) and then take it out. The machine will give you a FASTPASS for that ticket. It will tell you a timeframe to come back to ride the attraction. Also, when you go up to the FASTPASS machines, there will be a display as to what time your FASTPASS will be for. However, depending on how many people just got FASTPASSES, the timeframe might be off by 5-10 minutes.
My 10 yr. old son and I got FASTPASSES with different times on them a few times. But it was only a 5 minute difference. So just wait until the later time and you can all go through.
Once it%26#39;s time for you to go back and ride, you will see the FASTPASS line. You%26#39;ll show your FASTPASS ticket to a couple of people. The second person will take your ticket. Also, don%26#39;t try to ride before the stated time on your FASTPASS. They%26#39;re very strict about this, which was fine. However, you can ride at any time after the stated time on your FASTPASS.
No reason to cancel a FASTPASS. You can get a new one once you have reached the timeframe of your other FASTPASS. Or you can get another one once 2 hours have passed since you got a FASTPASS. Whichever comes first.
The FASTPASS system is fantastic. It really allows you to ride as many rides as possible.
You might want to get your FASTPASSES for the more popular rides early in the day. There are only a certain number of FASTPASSES available each day, and they can go quickly.
