What are some suggestions for family-friendly restaurants in Malibu, Santa Monica Beach, and/or Venice Beach, maybe with a view? We have a 7-year-old and a 12-year-old. The younger is picky, but the oldest likes things we like, such as shrimp and chicken. Duke%26#39;s sounded nice in Malibu, but I didn%26#39;t know if it was child-friendly???
Family-friendly restaurant
Duke%26#39;s has lots of children running around, particularly at the Barefoot Bar - just don%26#39;t go after dark. It%26#39;s the only restaurant with a view that I can think of - except maybe the pool at any of the beachside hotels. You can go to Loews poolside any time of day.
Just about every restaurant on the Third Street Promenade is child friendly. All menus are out front of each place, you can find one you all like.
Family-friendly restaurant
The most child-friendly restaurant I can think of is the Farmer%26#39;s Market at Fairfax %26amp; Third. There%26#39;s a concentration of small family run restaurants here. They%26#39;d call it a food court now, but that just doesn%26#39;t seem accurate. My wife and I come here often with our three young kids. We like the pizza and the crepes. But, I%26#39;m sure there are dozens of places we%26#39;ve never tried. (Only place which we don%26#39;t like was the Chinese.) The market and the new Grove next is a very child friendly place to hang out.
HTH.
Gladstones is always fun - we sit outside on the patio. They are on the pricy side for what you get, but food is good and the envirnment fun. Our kids love it.
There%26#39;s always the Cheesecake Factory in Marina del Rey - great views of the marina, lots of kids and families...
We%26#39;ve been to Dukes Malibu often for lunch There%26#39;s a variety of people there of all ages and I%26#39;ve seen families bring their kids. It%26#39;s pretty casual, and it has a more Hawaiian theme.
