We are thinking about spending a week at Bernardus Lodge. But the reviews are either glowing or biting. Nothing in between.
If you%26#39;ve stayed at the Lodge, could you let us know what you think? Is it worth the time and money?
The website looks very nice.
Bernardus Lodge?
My wife and I stayed here about a year ago and several of our friends have stayed at Bernardus for their anniversary celebrations. It is a gorgeous, luxury hotel. It just depends on what you are looking for. If you are accustomed to larger, 4 or 5 star resorts with multiple restaurants, golf, private casitas etc.. than this is not the place for you. If you want a smaller, more intimate hotel with very personalized service, you will be very happy at Bernardus.
My wife and I had a couples massage that was incredible and dinner at Marinus is second to none (although very pricey). Although there is no golf course, there is a croquet lawn, outdoor pool, and views of the vineyards.
So, I guess my answer would be to go for it!
Bernardus Lodge?
We didn%26#39;t stay at the Lodge, but had lunch at their casual restaurant, Wickets which was wonderful. We were very impressed with the property and there is a very large pool area which was beautiful. We would love to stay here sometime and their wines are very, very good. The tasting room is in Carmel Valley, also. Please report back if you do stay there! Have fun! :)
