I guess I shouldn%26#39;t be lazy, and should check around the other sites for this, but you%26#39;re so great with info that I thought I%26#39;d check with you first!
You mentioned in another thread that DL will be having Halloween fireworks and decorations this year in October. Any idea if its at all like the things they do for Mickey%26#39;s Not So Scary Halloween Party (aka MNSSHP) at WDW?
Just curious, since I heard the fireworks they added there last year were great.
Darkbeer - about October Disneyland events
What do we Know for sure....
DCA will host it%26#39;s second set of Mickey%26#39;s Halloween Treat, a seperate ticketed event after park closing, designed mainly for younger kids, on selected days starting October 13th thru the 31st. This will cause the park closer earlier than normal on Friday and Sundays. (No special events will be held on Saturday, to allow DCA to remain open in the evening for regular guests).
Now, what is rumored.....
Disney is looking for way to phase out the end of the 50th, instead of just ending it cold turkey.
So the current plan is to offer Halloween Decorations and a new verion of the Fireworks to ';fill'; in the October thru early November part of the schedule, as the Christmas stuff always starts in early December.
The biggest worry is a bunch of upset guests who heard all about the 50th, and getting ';nothing'; when they get there, especially no fireworks.
While the Remember Fireworks are wonderful for the guests, it has caused a lot of problems for the park, including additional costs for a longer show, the need for more Air Quality Control credits, and the big one, Guest Traffic Control. Currrently, over 50 Cast Members are need to man Main Street and the Hub just to keep traffic flowing. If traffic stops flowing, either Disney has to open the backstage areas for guests (which has been done many times the last year), and/or stop folks from entering the gates (fire marshall rules).
So, offering ';new'; fireworks, which will be designed to be seen for anywhere in the park with equal enjoyment should take away some fo the traffic issues around the front of the Castle.
My guess, only parts of the park will get decorated for Halloween at Disneyland, and will allow Disney to start working to remove the 50th stuff in other areas in October.
