Elk Grove Area?

Starting job at Apple in a couple of months and lookig for feedback on the Elk Grove area. Moving from out of state, so I know nothing about Sacramento. I%26#39;ve read alot about crowding/traffic issues so living in or near Elk Grove would be ideal. Will rent an apartment at first....hopefully will be able to find a 2 bdr in the $900 range.

Would appreciate any comments about the area, housing, job market (fiance%26#39; coming with), shopping, entertainment, weather, etc...

Thanks! :)

Elk Grove Area?

I live in Elk Grove in the old town area. I would suggest this neighborhood over the new area over by Apple - Laguna West. We have a few good restaurants in town that are good - Palermo%26#39;s %26amp; Blvd Bistro. Most others a chain type - good but not original. We are getting more and more every day. It is crowded but every where is crowded in this area unless you go out to Galt or further - rural.

Elk Grove Area?

If you are planning on going in and out of town of Sacramento during rush hours plan on sitting in traffic. Main route in and out of town to down town is 99 and it is packed. Suggest using light rail which goes out to Meadowview. You can get a two bedroom in price range you are looking for. I live out by Rancho Cordova and rent there is high but still around 900 for two bedroom

My sister lived in Elk Grove for several years and loved it. Very family friendly. Sacramento weather can be very hot during the day and generally cools off nicely at night.
