I would love any suggestions regarding things to do near my hotel The Hilton San Diego Del Mar. Pretty poor planning on my friend and I%26#39;s part, but we had a hard enough time deciding on where in CA we wanted to visit. I do know at we want to go to Gaslamp district and Balboa park at some point, but I%26#39;m not sure what else to do. I%26#39;m sure there is alot to do in San Diego I%26#39;m just not sure what. We are in our 24 and 23 we enjoy shopping, beach activities (parasailing) people watching, art museums, club/bar hoping, and touristy things like sight seeing. Unfortunately we aren%26#39;t really into hiking or visiting zoos. Thanks in advance I know you guys will come with great ideas as usual.

Gliderport in La Jolla if you want to strap a kite to your back and jump off a cliff.
Balboa Park is OK for museums. It%26#39;s also popular with the altrnative lifestyle folks if you%26#39;re into that scene.
Gaslamp is definitely the hip/trendy/happening place nowadays in SD. Tons of great restaurants, bars and clubs.

The Hilton Del Mar is in a great location for the beach - you%26#39;re about a mile away from the fantastic beaches of Del Mar to the south and Solana Beach to the north. Check out the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach, lots of unique shops, and if you want great entertainment, the Belly Up Tavern is a very famous venue. The best Mexican food in the county is at Fidel%26#39;s in Solana Beach.

If you want a feel for the ';old'; California, drive a bit north on Highway 101 (Coast Highway) to see Encinitas and Leucadia, lots of neat shops and fun bars along the way. Visit the beautiful grounds of the Self Realization Fellowship in Encinitas (you%26#39;ll know you%26#39;re there when you see the gold lotus blossoms) Wonderful place to people and ocean watch.
Driving south on 101 will take you to Del Mar and the many popular bars there, including the wine bar on top of the Del Mar Plaza with extraordinary views of the ocean. Checkout Epazote%26#39;s for a fun bar with lots of people your age.
You%26#39;ll be in a great area for all that you want to do - no need to go all the way to the Gaslamp for fun. Have a great trip!
Oh man Virginia, don%26#39;t be bummed you didn%26#39;t plan and youre WAY OUT in Del Mar. Your vacation will be spectacular.
I like the idea of a drive up the coast on 1 (not 5!). Get a nice deli sandwich in Encinitas, find Swami%26#39;s and watch the surfers.
Go to the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach.
Find out who is at the Belly Up Tavern(www.bellyup.com), Humphrey%26#39;s (www.humpheysconcerts.com), 4th and B (www.4thandb.com). Try to get tickets to see Zhivago, a world premier musical at the La Jolla Playhouse (www.lajollaplayhouse.com).
Drive to Oceanside and find the San Luis Rey Mission for something far away from Virginia.
Thanks everyone for your wonderful suggestions. You guys are going to make travel agents obsolete lol.
