Anaheim resort transit

Can someone share their experience with the reliability of the ART? Does it get very crowded at night when everyone is leaving disneyland?

We%26#39;re traveling with 3 kids (double stroller), and will have to return to hotel for naps in the afternoon. I%26#39;m wondering if I should book a 2-star hotel across the street, or stay at a 3 -star where i would have to take the shuttle. Any advice would be appreciated.

I stayed at the Residence Inn Garden Grove and used the ART shuttle and hate to tell you, but it was horrible. Consistantly late everyday which resulted to us driving to the park the last three days of our stay and paying $10 everyday. If it%26#39;s not late, it%26#39;s too crowded and you will be waiting for the next shuttle. I was very disappointed with the whole system. If I had to do it again, I would either stay in the park or stay in a hotel that has thier own shuttle or like you said, in a hotel you can walk to. Candy Cane Inn has their own shuttle and I really regretted that I did not stay there. I really didn%26#39;t think the shuttle was going to be an issue for me but IT WAS and I will never stay in a hotel that uses the ART. I wish I know of other hotels other than the Candy Cane that has thier own shuttle, but I don%26#39;t. Good luck!

It was not too bad for us.. we only saw it overly crowded one night. however we went in December so it was slow season. if you get their early enough and are first in line you can secure a seat. the problem with the hotels across the street unless they are RIGHT across the street it could be a pretty long walk. We stayed at the travelodge and it picked us up right in front of the hotel.. and left us in front of the park it was very nice not having to brave the walk back to the hotel with a tired little one.

A few years ago we stayed at the castle hotel and the ART was about 1/2 block away to pick it up ... not good coming home. Hope that helps.... Have a great time

we swore by the ART not just for transfers to and from DL, but to get us closer to convenience stores, restaurants (Joe%26#39;s Crabshack rocks darkbeer!)oh and we also used it to get to the block at Orange for shopping and good brew at the Alcatraz? Brewing co...and Krispy Kremes as well!!!! Well worth it%26#39;s weight in gold. It was never busy, but we were there the first week in May...a slow time anyways.

joanneotoole, thanks for the warning about the residence inn at garden grove. because we need a suite, i booked a room at residence inn maingate (1/2 mile away) and it only has 3 ART stops on that route.

we will be there in november, sat-tues. before thanksgiving. not sure if that will be a busy time. it sounds like if it%26#39;s a slow time at disneyland, ART should be ok. i still have a room across the street at desert inn and suites on hold. some reviews say desert inn is noisy, so can%26#39;t quite decide. too many variables beyond your control . ...

himom. Yes, I think it does matter what time of year you go because so many people have different opinions on the ART. We went during prime time ';Spring Break'; month so it was one of the most busiest times of the year and our experience was not good with ART, however, I am sure if it were less busy, it might be a totally different story. One thing you should find out, if possible, is if the Residence Inn Main Gate is the first stop. I think that makes a big difference to assure a seat on the bus, if not, get there extra early just to be safe. Hope it all works out for you!
