We will be visiting San Diego in end of june for 4 days. We want to visit the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Disneyland and Universal Studios or Legoland.
Is one day enough for each of these places and which is more preferable to go with a 1 1/2 year old Universal or legoland?
What is the best place to stay so we can visit all these places. Looking for Good accomodation for under $100
First Time to San Diego for 4 days
I%26#39;d say Legoland would win vs. Universal Studios for a toddler. My kids STILL love Legoland as preteens, and they love Universal Studios now, but I%26#39;m pretty sure that Universal would have been sensory overload at best... possibly a bit scary when they were babes.
First Time to San Diego for 4 days
San Diego has the zoo and Sea World. Legoland is about 40min. north of downtown SAnDiego in the town of Carlsbad. Disneyland is about11/2 -2hrs north of downtown SanDiego in the town of Anaheim. Universal Studios is in a part of Los Angeles which is about 2-3hrs north of downtown SanDiego.
I think it will be hard to stay in one place and be close to all.
It will also be hard to find accomodations under $100,especially if you are planning on coming in the summer.
Perhaps you could prioritize. Your little one might enjoy Universal and even Disneyland more when a little older so if you are going for the child maybe stick to the simple things like the zoo and Sea World.
Hi,
Definitely try to cull down your list; you are planning a lot of activities in a very short time. I%26#39;d jettison Universal... We were in SD for 6 days in April, had the 3 for 1 pass (zoo, seaworld, animal park) and Legoland tickets, and had a hard time getting everything in. If you get your Legoland tickets from Costco, they are good until December (we ended up not even going to Legoland this trip). If you will have a car, want room, and want to be 1/2 hour or less from attractions, check out Woodfin Suites in Mira Mesa area (I got 2 bedrooms through the AAA website for $169/night)... Have fun!
You%26#39;re definitely trying to do too much on one trip. Remember, some of these attractions (Disneyland/Universal Studios) are not in San Diego.
The San Diego Zoo is delightful and a full day%26#39;s trip. It%26#39;s located in Balboa Park which, in itself, takes forever to see. Probably not a lot there to interest a small child other than the zoo.
There are harbor cruises, an aircraft carrier to tour, the Old town Trolley tour is fun (it stops at the zoo, Old Town, the Harbor, Balboa Park and is one of those get on, get off things. You can also take a duck tour from downtown which takes you around to the sights and then goes into the water at Shelter Island.
