yes - have already copied stuff from your site - thanks!

hi hop skip jump, think daughter interested in beaches and celeb. we%26#39;d love architecture. And son wants fun regardless!

Santa Monica is the best beach option. You can rent bikes or skates (if you are so inclined) and ride/skate down the beach to neighboring Venice Beach (a kind of ';artsy'; beach area stuck in the %26#39;60s. If you continue south, there is Marina del Rey (with lots of boats), Playa del Rey and other areas -- all very different from each other. If you get to Manhattan Beach, check out Sloppy%26#39;s for great hamburgers and awesome homemade shakes on Highland Av.

Architecturally speaking, there are 2 ways to go:

1. Take a walking tour with Redline tours -- http://www.redlinetours.com/

or

2. Self-tour through downtown L.A. (many of the buildings are mentioned in our ';suggested itineraries'; sections of our FAQs section but don%26#39;t forget the Richard Riordan Public Library on Figueroa and the rooftop of the New Otani Hotel in the ';Little Tokyo'; section of downtown.

Of course, the most hard-core roller coasters are at SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN in Valencia (about 20-30 minutes north of Hollywood).

For a family excursion you might want to consider going to Catalina Island. Take a ferry boat from Long Beach or San Pedro to Avalon. There%26#39;s a bunch of excursions to do once you get there and it%26#39;s pretty relaxing since cars aren%26#39;t allowed in the island.

Pasadena has some nice architecture and a variety of homes here are the classic American Craftsman styles. If you enjoy gardens, go to Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino just right next to Pasadena. The gardens here are beautiful including the desert garden and the Japanese garden. There%26#39;s the Gamble House in Pasadena as well. After doing the tours, go to Old Town Pasadena which your daughter would probably enjoy shopping and then have dinner at any one of the restaurants on Colorado Blvd. The ambiance at Old Town Pasadena is fun!

The Getty would be another fun excursion. It%26#39;s free, pay $7 for parking. One highlight of the Getty is the remarkable view of the westside since this museum is on top of a hill.

Other things to do that have been suggested before:

-The Grove and Farmer%26#39;s Market

-Browse through Rodeo Drive

-Take a studio tour. There is Warner Bros and Sony Studios.

-Drive the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu and beyond

-Go to Orange County and take in some beautiful beaches there including Newport Beach and Laguna Beach or Corona del Mar

If you%26#39;re in Newport Beach stop by Fashion Island for some shopping or just browse around this beautiful outdoor shopping center.

-La Brea Tarpits and Petersen Automotive Museum

-California Science Center

-Take a day excursion to Santa Barbara and Solvang

-Watch a baseball game

Enjoy your time!

I think these things are perhaps the most teen friendly:

鈥?Page Museum on the grounds of the LA County Museum of Art. This museum features things pulled from the La Brea Tar Pits--stuff like sabre tooth tigers--things you won%26#39;t find anywhere else.

鈥?Go to Hollywood Highland--they can see the foot prints at the Chinese, bowl at Lucky Strike (a very cool bowling alley), shop a little, go to the Hollywood Heritage Museum. Also you%26#39;re just down the street from the Hollywood Bowl.

鈥?Definitely take them to ComedySportz in Hollywood--a great improv comedy theatre that is clean, intimate and family friendly. Teens love it and adults too. www.ComedySportzLA.com 323-856-4796.

鈥?You can go horseback riding over the Hollywood Hills at sunset. They take you over the hill and to dinner at a Mexican restaurant. Sunset Hollywood Stable Tel: 213-469-5450.

鈥?Take them to a tv show taping. There are always shows looking for audiences and often they are signing them up outside the Chinese.

鈥?Although you%26#39;ve been to Universal Studios, you should visit CityWalk at Universal. It%26#39;s shops, restaurants, street performers and more. They have a Hard Rock Cafe and everything is larger than life. Fun to walk around for teens.

Have fun!
