Will you have a rental car, and if so, are you planning to leave the Anaheim area?
Let%26#39;s presume you will not.
Shopping Malls easy to get to.
As part of the ART shuttle system, a special bus goes to the famous Crystal Cathedral (Church with a tour) and the Block of Orange, something they call a ';Shoppertainment'; Mall, which means it has a heavier than normal amount of non-retail (Such as a place to skateboard, etc.) but still has plenty of shops. Plenty of kid friendly places to eat here, Dave%26amp; Busters has a large arcade for kids of all ages, and some very good food. Johnny Rockets is a nice hamburger diner.
South Coast Plaza has its own Shuttle to their Upscale Mall (very large), do a search here or go to their website for more info.
Another choice is to go to a Strip Mall, the best choice here is to take the local bus, OCTA%26#39;s route 43 that runs up and down Harbor. Head North about 3 miles to Orangethorpe. You will find the discount retailer Target, the Disneyland Park Outlet Store (Character Warehouse), a grocery store (Food4Less), and a very well known Southern California Fast Food chain, In-n-Out Burger., plus lots more in the surrounding blocks, the bus fare is $1.25 each way.
If you have a rental car, I would head to Buena Park, check out Knott%26#39;s, a dinner show (Medieval Times or the Pirates Dinner Adventure) and the Buena Park Mall, which is on both the North and South sides of La Palma, about one block east of Knott%26#39;s.
If going to Universal Studios, Citywalk has a great mix of shops and restaurants.
