I am curious since I have never been on space mountain before myself. How intense is this ride? Is it anything like the one at WDW? I%26#39;ve heard its nothing like mission space. I have a 7 year old who does pretty well. He has been on Indiana Jones and done ok. Ive heard these two are some what similiar. Thanks for the input.
Also if darkbeer is reading, you have so much info about DL and the area do you have your own web page with tips and info?
space mountain and little ones
If the little one you%26#39;re concerned about is your 7 year old, they should be fine, assuming he likes rollercoasters. It%26#39;s not scary or anything - it%26#39;s wonderful! A very smooth riding rollercoaster in the dark, with some very cool visual effects at the beginning and the end. My kids both LOVE Space Mountain and they are aged 5 and 9. I don%26#39;t see any similarity whatsoever between INdiana Jones %26amp; Space Mountain - were you asking if they were similar? Dunno about WDW...
space mountain and little ones
My older son, went on Space Mountain for the first time when he was 5 and came of not liking it due to the noise (he is very sensative to loud noises, tubes in his ears) and said it was too dark - but then a half hour later asked to go on it again to make sure he didn%26#39;t like it. Now he loves it. My daughter loved it the first time she rode it (age 5). If hyoru 7 year old likes roller coasters, they%26#39;ll love it. IMO - it is nothing like Indiana Jones.
Our son who is not 5 yet loved Space MT, it was one of his favourites.
I thought he would be scared because it is dark, we went on it multiple times. He did not like Indiana Jones but we did go on it twice just to make sure and he decided he did not like it. Fave rides Space MT, Star Tours,
Splash MT, Buzz. Have Fun

I have my own photo web site http://darkbeer.smugmug.com
As for information, I have a working relationship with two DIsney/Theme Park related boards.
Over at MousePlanet.com , much of the info in their weekly update in regards to the Disneyland Resort is info I have provided.
I also provide info to MiceAge.com, and occasionally write articles for them.
I am active at both the MousePlanet.com and MiceChat.com discussion boards.
Also, I enjoy MouseSavers.com for tips, and help keep the board up to date with current info.
Thanks for the info everyone, Great pics you have darkbeer and thanks for the weblinks. Found really cool info
jagz I am 44 and found Space Mountain to be intense. Fun to the max, but very intense. Very dark too-when you say he did OK on Indiana Jones, did he love it or did he endure it? If he loved it, I think he will be fine on Space, if he just ';got thru it'; without crying, I%26#39;d say no. The rides are very different to me, Space is a high speed roller coaster in near-pitch dark, Indiana Jones is much slower and lighter but has more possibly disturbing visual effects.
