Manhattan Beach beachfront hotels

Hi,

New user, quick question:

Making my first trip to the East coast in September and would like to stay beachfront on Manhattan Beach after reading this forum - can anyone recommend good hotels for $130 a night or less?

thanks

Sorry, forgot to add not only beachfront hotels, but ones that are in walking distance (less than 5 mins) of the beachwould be good too.

You are a little confused:

1. This Forum (Manhattan Beach) is for the CITY OF MANHATTAN BEACH in the state of California (on the west coast of the U.S.)

2. I assume that you atr intending on visiting the ISLAND OF MANHATTAN within the CITY OF NEW YORK in the state of New York (on the east coast of the U.S.). Therefore, post your message in the NEW YORK CITY FORUM in the STATE OF NEW YORK.

3. There are no beaches on the island of Manhattan. You%26#39;ll need to go to neighboring municipalities like cities across the Hudson River in New Jersey or areas on the south shore of Long Island (an island across the East River from Manhattan.

4. Lastly, it would be difficult to find a hotel for that price in Manhattan. Here%26#39;s a link to hotels in Manhattan to give you an idea. Be sure to click on the blue QUICK CHECK button to get current prices:

tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g60763-New_York_City_…

For example. the Radio City Apartments (radiocityapartments.com) -- a tourist-class hotel in the city centre (adjacent to Times Square) offers rooms starting at $175 per night if you can get one!

Good luck

Sorry, I meant west coast, not east!

Well, given that there are only 8 hotels in all of Manhattan beach, you don%26#39;t have to do a lot of research. Here%26#39;s the link:

Hey there:

Acutally, there IS a Manhattan Beach in NY - it%26#39;s near Coney Island and you don%26#39;t want to visit it. Manhattan Beach, California IS a place you%26#39;ll want to spend some time. There are no ';beachfront'; hotels in Manhattan Beach - but there are two within two blocks. First is the ';Sea View Inn'; http://www.seaview-inn.com/ and another is the ';Manhattan Beach Motel'; (310) 545-9227.

The Sea View Inn appears to be a much nicer establishment.

If you want your hotel to be less than 20 feet from the sand, you%26#39;ll have to head to our neighboring beach to the south, Hermosa Beach. There you%26#39;ll find the ';Sea Sprite Motel'; http://www.seaspritemotel.com/

If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

I work close to Manhattan Beach, and it%26#39;s a beautiful and a great beach town. There aren%26#39;t any beachfront hotels in Manhattan Beach. The closest hotel to the Beach(but still walking distance) is the Sea View Inn, which is in a great neighborhood(amongst multimillion dollar homes). One advantage of this hotel, you can borrow bikes for free as well as boogie boards and beach towels, etc are all complimentary. They do have rooms starting at $105/night.

Have fun!

Our Manhattan Beach in CA, was named after the MB in New York. Two men owned the few mile beach front property in CA. One called his half, Shore Acres, the other after his hometown in NY. They flipped a coin to see what the new town should be called in 1912, and now the city is know as Manhattan Beach, CA.

There is also the new Shade Hotel right in the middle of MB, but don%26#39;t think they have internet specials anymore, as they did at opening.

You might also try one of the local vacation rentals - several get you closer to the beach than a hotel. Good luck and enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the suggestion of the vacation rental. I was able to stay in a really cute 1 bedroom just a few houses from the beach. She calls it Manhattan Beach Vacation but there are many others that you can find through the vacation rental sites.
