Romantic Honeymoon in California

Thanks for the info you have provided me with so far it%26#39;s been great!! We are planning on coming to California for our honeymoon at the end of September next year. We are going to Las Vegas for 3 days first (recommend any good hotels? - like the look of the venetian) and then want to pick up a car and drive to California and up the coast towards probably San Francisco (I think this is probably the best place to finish and fly back to the UK) We have about 10 days to do this and was just wondering if you recommend any must sees and advice on drive times? Of the 10 days we would like to base ourselves out of one area for around 7 (ish) of those so that we can relax. We are not sure where but as it is our honeymoon we would like to find a really romantic hotel near the sea with a pool so we can spend some days just lounging around and chilling out! We would also like to do this at the end of the 10 days rather than the start so we are nice and chilled out for going home and back to work. Early thoughts are maybe basing ourselves in Monterey/Carmel? Is this - a good idea any recommendations for hotels? We want to be able to relax but also have thing to do if we want to and we would like to be able to go out for nice meals and drinks at night so not somewhere too quiet! Then we thought we might stop at Pismo Beach or maybe Santa Barbara for a couple of nights on our way up to Carmel and Monterey? Is this a good idea or is there somewhere better and would be able to drive from Vegas to these areas in one day? Finally we will probably just stay in San Fran for one night before flying home. Also will the weather be very hot in California as my other half likes to sunbathe!!

All ideas are very welcome we want the trip to be very special and have the right mix of things to do but also relaxing romantic moments

Thanks guys!

The Tickle Pink Inn in the Carmel Highlands area would be a very nice spot for a honeymoon in this area. There is also the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur if money is no object, rooms start at a little over $500/night there, it%26#39;s an awesome place. If you don%26#39;t stay there, go to Sierra Mar for dinner one evening. Congrats! :)
