Self Contained accomodation in SF

We are travelling to San Fransisco in August 2007. We are planning to stay at least 7 nights.

Can anyone recommend a ';self contained'; type place to stay that is still close to the usual tourist spots ?

By self contained I am meaning has a fridge and some type of kitchen ammenity .

There is 2 adults and a 5 year old child.

Last time we were there we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Fisherman%26#39;s Wharf.This time I was thinking for the length of time we are staying it would be nice to be able to self cater instead of having to eat out all the time.
