I live near San Francisco. My wife and I (wiht our two small children - 2.5 yrs. and 7 mos.) are looking fo find an affordable way to drive up or down the coast and spend a few days vacationing. We would love some advice for some fun activities and cheap places to stay.
Can anyone recommend anything? The cheaper = the better.
Looing for a Cheap Coastal Location
Pismo Beach has some excellent, inexpensive places. I think the Pacifica Hotel chain has a web site. If you haven%26#39;t joined AAA you should, they not only can give you a Tourbook but have a no fee travel agency in most locations. I think it costs $60 to join for the year. I have been a member since the mid 70%26#39;s and it is well worth it. Also, if you travel during the week it is less expensive. Most hotels (motels) on the coast are much cheaper Sun-Thurs. nights. And, most are very casual so being with kids is easy. I hope this helps.

PS. I grew up in Fremont. The AAA office is filled with nice people to help you.
