Are there any reataurants in South Lake Tahoe that are dressy? meaning, you can%26#39;t wear jeans? Thanks, Brilla
Dressing up?
Jeans are fine....
There are of course some restaurants that are still more upscale eating (i.e. view restaurants) (evening cruise on Ms. Dixie, etc.) where you may want to dress up a little bit more (if you wish to do so.)
Dressing up?
I would not wear jeans to Cafe Fiore or Evans.
There is a difference between ';dressing up if you choose'; and restaurants that REQUIRE dressy clothes. I think in an area like Tahoe, where people are skiing in winter and relaxing at thelake etc in the summer you can pret ty much wear clothes you are comfy in everywhere.
That%26#39;s not really true in my experience. There are many casual places but there are others where you would not wear shorts or jeans.
Lake Tahoe is a tourist-based area. Lunch is casual, even in the nicer restaurants. Unlike San Francisco, you will not be met with dress codes. You can wear jeans, but they are not the best choice for an elegant restaurant. During the summer/fall, a dress or dressy pants might be a better choice if you are in doubt.
Winters can be miserable. Fashion police may not be thrilled, but many of us wear jeans to dinner during the coldest months. We do match them with nice, nice sweaters. Cashmere is a plus!
The only possible penalty is where you might be seated. If you do not mind a table next to the kitchen, then go as casual as you wish.
