we will be visiting in oct.we don%26#39;t want to rent a car.is there enough to do and see on foot? also do you know if there%26#39;s a shuttle from san diego airport to the harbour lights.
fairfield harbour lights
The Harbour Lights is a time share resort. I do not know if it has a shuttle to the airport. The airport is located very close to downtown which is also where you r resort is located. There is a city bus that goes from the airport to downtown. It is route 992 an dit stops about 3-4 blocks from you rhotel. See
sdcommute.com/Rider_Information/鈥?92.asp
for the route info. There are of course taxis and shared ride shuttles.
YOu will have plenty to do without a car. A car makes it easier to get out of the city center to neighborhoods and attractions that are not easily reachable by our meager public transportation system. I do not know the ages of your travel group or their interests but you will be well located for a ';no car ';trip.
YOu will be able to get to our world famous zoo and Balboa Park.
See www.balboapark.org YOu are just steps fro the Horton plaza Mall.
YOu are near our waterfront where you could take a harbor cruise, visit the USS Midway aircraft carrier or the Star of India(old sailing ship),take a ferry across the bay to Coronado where you can rent bikes, walk to a beach(about 10 blocks). Let me know if there are other things you%26#39;d like to do and I will be happy to tell you if you need a taxci ro if th epub transport system will ge tyou there easily. Or see:
