boutique hotel in or near west hollywood

I%26#39;m looking for a moderately priced boutique hotel within a 10-minute drive of Hollywood and Vine (where I have a very early meeting).

I stayed at Le Montrose last time I was in LA, but found it a bit lacking in ambiance. It would be nice to find a place that%26#39;s within walking distance of good food and drink.

The Elan Modern looks great, but location-wise its chief attribute seems to be that it%26#39;s near a mall. Are there restaurants nearby? Anyone have any other suggestions?

The Elan is a few blocks from the Beverly Center, the dining options at the mall are your basic, California Pizza Kitchen, P.F. Changs, Hard Rock Cafe fare... but there are a lot of really good restaurants going the other way all along Beverly Blvd. Many within walking distance to the hotel. Elan is a bit more than ten minutes to Hollywood %26amp; Vine, I%26#39;d plan for more like 20-25 minutes during rush hour.

But Elan Modern gets fantastic reviews here, at TA

The Elan has plenty of dining options along nearby 3rd Street and adjacent to the mall in all prices and styles of eating. The distance from the Elan to Hollywood %26amp; Vine is less than 5 miles. Even if the traffic moved at a rate of only 15 miles per hour , it shouldn%26#39;t take you more than 20 minutes to get to your destination. Are they providing you with parking?

Our meeting is at 7 a.m. on Saturday, so traffic shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. I%26#39;ll try the Elan and hope we can get a good deal. The other two look to be a bit pricey, though you never know what kind of discount you can get until you ask.
