Has anyone done the upgrades on the Catalina Express? Any of them worth it?
Catalina Express Upgrades
I have stayed in the Commodore Lounge ($10 extra each way) you get a free cocktail or wine and a cookie. We like it when the boat is full because you can get a nice table and its alot quieter than down below.
The Captains Lounge which is on the smaller boats is a private room with around the room seats (one boat even has a pole in the middle so we had fun taking pictures with that one) and you get a bottle of champagne. This one is a bit more expensive $20 extra each way but if you are bringing your dog(s) over its great, because they dont have to wear thier muzzle in there.

Catalina Express Upgrades
We also had an upgrade (one way) and had the same type of experience as listed above. We enjoyed it at the end of our day in Catalina and found it much quieter and enjoyable way to come back. (We took the boat from Long Beach.)
Is it something you can upgrade to when you are there or do you have to do it ahead of time?
It%26#39;s the girlfriend%26#39;s 21st and we are staying in Catalina for the night and I%26#39;m trying to decide if it is worth it or not...
Usually the Commodore Lounge is available for upgrade when you get to the port. (Unless the boat is full) There are 50+ seats up there, and once the normal tickets sell out, you have to buy commodore lounge seats to get on.
One other cool thing is you get to board first.
I think its worth it because you each get a free drink, and if you were gonna buy one anyways......
