Sonoma wineries?

We will be visiting Sonoma in September. Which wineries do you recommend? We want a combination of great wines and great scenery. We also prefer the smaller, less touristy tasting rooms. We visited Napa a few years ago and are looking forward to experiencing Sonoma this time. We are also planning a day trip to the Healdsburg area and need advice about that area too. Any help would be great!

Sonoma wineries?

I just posted a reply to ';ivyspd'; re: small wineries, in part: Imagery Winery (www.imagerywinery.com) nr. Glen Ellen is a small producer (under 7,000 cases, I believe). They also have a delightful facility with an educational display on varietals--and a fabulous art gallery filled with ';wine label art';. I also think you%26#39;d enjoy the small production Mayo Family Winery (www.mayofamilywinery.com) in Glen Ellen. Try to go to their reserve tasting room where they pair wine with food--great experience! Mayo also has a reserve tasting room in Healdsburg. In the Sonoma area, Bartholomew Park Winery (www.bartpark.com) is a historic winery property that was part of the orig. Buena Vista estate; loc%26#39;d off Vineyard Ln. not far no. of the Sonoma Plaza. Beautiful old buildings, hiking trails, views and a small but interesting historic museum. Like Imagery and Mayo Family, they are a small producer. Be sure to do a search on the Healdsburg Forum for winery/tasting room recommendations, as a lot has been posted. www.wineroad.com and www.alexandervalley.org are also a couple of helpful sites to look at.
